Michelle Vitulli, DVM
Dr.
Vitulli, owner of Caring Hands Animal Hospital,
is a 1991 graduate of Cornell University, College of
Veterinary Medicine. She has interests in
cardiology, internal medicine and surgery, and
preventive care for the senior pets. After
practicing for 2 years in Syracuse, New York, she
moved to the Northern Virginia area. In 1997,
she was fortunate enough to have found a location to
open her first veterinary hospital, located in

Jeffery Newman,
DVMA partner of Caring Hands
Animal Hospital of Arlington, Dr. Newman is a
graduate from the College of Veterinary Medicine at
Auburn University. He has practiced veterinary
medicine in Georgia, Nevada, and in Virginia. He
has also worked at the
Virginia-Maryland Veterinary Emergency Service. His
interests include ultrasound, emergency medicine,
surgery, and preventive care. He and his wife,
Michelle, have three children: a daughter,
Virginia, and twins, Elisabeth and Jack. His
extended family consists of two dogs: Honeysuckle
and Daisy May; and two cats: Claire and Simon. |

Stacey Shults, DVM
Dr. Shults,
Senior Associate Veterinarian, graduated from the
Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine.
She then completed a small animal medical and surgical
internship at the Animal Medical Center in New York City.
Dr. Shults has practiced in her native Northern Virginia for
over ten years, five of which were at a feline only practice.
Her interests include surgery, dentistry, and senior health
care.
In her free time Dr. Shults enjoys outdoor activities with her
husband Chuck, who works for Fairfax County Public Schools, and
their son Spencer. Their animal kingdom includes two dogs
Sidd, a Bullmastiff, and Murgen, a Doberman Pinscher, 3 cats;
Biggie a three-legged Maine Coon, Dude an orange tabby, and a
crazy Bengal named Li’Kitty Cheetah 3000. They also share
their home with snakes, dart frogs and a tank of tropical fish. |

Keith de la Cruz, DVM
Associate at the hospital in Arlington, Dr. de la
Cruz graduated from the University Of Wisconsin
School Of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. de la
Cruz grew up in Bethesda, Maryland. He practiced
outside Milwaukee for several years before returning to
his home town. Dr. de la Cruz’s interests include
internal medicine, dermatology, neurology, and
ultrasound. In his free time, he enjoys weight
training and writing and playing music. He
currently lives in Alexandria with Balthazar, his 12
year-old Maine Coon. |

Jessica
Garcia, DVM
Dr. Garcia,
associate veterinarian, graduated from Ross University School of
Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts. She spent one year at
the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in
clinical training with a concentration in small animal medicine.
Her interests include internal medicine, dermatology, surgery
and preventative health care. She currently lives in
Fairfax with her husband Chris, her 1 year old pit bull Lola and
her 7 year old cat Dewey whom she found while at school on the
island of St. Kitts. |

Chris Miller, DVM
Dr. Miller,
associate veterinarian, is a graduate of Auburn University’s
College of Veterinary Medicine. Chris is originally from
Birmingham, Alabama and attended the University of Southern
Mississippi. His interests include radiology, ultrasound,
surgery and orthopedics. Chris lives on Capitol Hill in
Washington DC with his wife, Tanya, who practices emergency
veterinary medicine in Annapolis, Maryland. They are the proud
owners of Elliot, a brindle greyhound, and Jackson, a orange
tabby cat. Chris enjoys running, camping, sailing, cooking,
playing guitar and music of all kinds. |
