Michelle Vitulli, DVM
Dr. Vitulli, owner of Caring Hands Animal Hospital, is a 1991 graduate of Cornell University, College of Veterinary Medicine. She has interests in cardiology, internal medicine and surgery, and preventive care for the senior pets. After practicing for 2 years in Syracuse, New York, she moved to the Northern Virginia area. Jeffery Newman, DVM
A partner of Caring Hands Animal Hospital of Arlington, Dr. Newman is a graduate from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Auburn University. He has practiced veterinary medicine in Georgia, Nevada, and in Virginia. He has also worked at the Virginia-Maryland Veterinary Emergency Service. His interests include ultrasound, emergency medicine, surgery, and preventive care. He and his wife, Michelle, have three children: a daughter, Virginia, and twins, Elisabeth and Jack. His extended family consists of two dogs: Honeysuckle and Daisy May; cat: Simon; and bird Spencer.
Keith de la Cruz, DVM
Dr. de la Cruz, associate veterinarian, is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine. He was born in Washington, D.C. and grew up in Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. de la Cruz’s interests include internal medicine, dermatology, and ultrasound. In his free time, he enjoys writing and playing music, travel, tennis, and hiking. He currently lives in Alexandria with his girlfriend and Max, their Rat Terrier.
Jessica Garcia, DVM
Dr. Garcia, associate veterinarian, graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts. She spent one year at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in clinical training with a concentration in small animal medicine. Her interests include internal medicine, dermatology, surgery and preventative health care. She currently lives in Fairfax with her husband Chris, 2 year old son CJ, her 4 year old pit bull Lola and her 9 year old cat Dewey whom she found while at school on the island of St. Kitts.
Chris Miller, DVM
Dr. Miller, associate veterinarian, is a graduate of Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. Chris is originally from Birmingham, Alabama and attended the University of Southern Mississippi. His interests include radiology, ultrasound, surgery and orthopedics. Chris lives on Capitol Hill in Washington DC with his wife, Tanya, who practices emergency veterinary medicine in Annapolis, Maryland. They are the proud owners of Tater Tot a brown and white Italian Greyhound, Downey a black & white domestic shorthair cat, and Jackson, an orange tabby cat. Chris enjoys travel, running, camping, sailing, cooking, playing guitar and music of all kinds.
Katie Dennehy, DVM
Dr. Dennehy, associate veterinarian, is a graduate of Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. She lived in Arlington, Virginia after obtaining her undergraduate degree at the College of William and Mary and is very excited to be back in the area. Her interests include soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, ultrasound, and physical therapy. In her free time, she enjoys fitness, reading, cooking, and spending time outdoors with her dog. She currently lives in Arlington, Virginia with her 3 year old black lab mix, Maddie.
Emily Evans, BVM&S Dr. Evans, associate veterinarian, is a graduate of the University of Edinburgh’s Royal School of Veterinary Studies in Scotland. Emily is a Virginia native and obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Richmond. Prior to attending veterinary school, she worked as a receptionist and Practice Manager for Caring Hands. Her interests include internal medicine, anesthesia, and diagnostic imaging. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, hiking, and traveling. She currently lives in Alexandria with her husband Russell and their world traveling lab, Skeeter.
Jamie Todd, DVM Dr. Todd, associate veterinarian, grew up in Birmingham, Alabama and did undergraduate work in Zoology at Auburn University. She graduated from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. After graduation, she practiced in small animal hospitals in Wyoming and Illnois. She relocated to northern Virginia and joined Caring Hands Animal Hospital in September 2010. Her interests include internal medicine, soft tissue surgery and critical care. She currently lives in Alexandria, Virginia with her husband, Collin, and son, Weston. Her animals include a Weimaraner named Riley and Chloe the cat. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading and spending time with her family.
Neil Coleman, DVM
Dr. Coleman, associate veterinarian, is a graduate of St. George's University in Grenada, West Indies. He completed his clinical year of veterinary school at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine, where he became interested in dentistry and ultrasound. Dr. Coleman grew up in Dearborn, Michigan and he travels there often to visit his niece and nephew. He also enjoys playing hockey, water skiing, and spending time working on his jeep. He lives in Washington, DC with his girlfriend and their cat Macy.
