Michelle Vitulli, DVM | | |

Dr. Vitulli, owner of Caring Hands Animal Hospital, is a 1991 graduate of Cornell University, College of Veterinary Medicine.  She has interests in cardiology, internal medicine and surgery, and preventive care for the senior pets.  After practicing for 2 years in Syracuse, New York, she moved to the Northern Virginia area.  In 1997, she was fortunate enough to have found a location to open her first veterinary hospital, located in Centreville, Virginia....more

 

 

 

 

 

Jeffery Newman, DVM | | |

A partner of Caring Hands Animal Hospital of Arlington, Dr. Newman is a graduate from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Auburn University.  He has practiced veterinary medicine in Georgia, Nevada, and in Virginia.  He has also worked at the Virginia-Maryland Veterinary Emergency Service. His interests include ultrasound, emergency medicine, surgery, and preventive care.  He and his wife, Michelle, have three children:  a daughter, Virginia, and twins, Elisabeth and Jack.  His extended family consists of two dogs:  Honeysuckle and Daisy May; and two cats:  Claire and Simon. 

 

 

 

John Bruzzese, DVM | | |

Dr. Bruzzese, Medical Director of Caring Hands Animal Hospital of Ashburn, is a 1990 graduate of the VA-MD Regional College of Veterinary Medicine.  After practicing in New York for two years, Dr. Bruzzese returned to his native Washington, DC to continue private practice in Northern Virginia through 1996.  Following his passion for animal welfare, he served as Medical Director for the better part of the next decade for two of the most prominent and progressive no-kill humane organizations, The Washington Animal Rescue League & Medical Center and the Richmond SPCA.  He returned to private practice in 2006 joining the Caring Hands family, dividing his time between the Arlington and Bristow branches while building this new location.  His interests include internal medicine, preventative medicine and infectious disease.  He and his wife Cindy are kept on their toes by their two toddler sons, Jack and Nick, as well as their dog Willie and Peg, their Amazon parrot. 

 

 

Meredith Davis, DVM | | |

Dr. Davis graduated from Cornell University, College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000.  She received her Master’s degree in Veterinary Preventative Medicine, as well as completed a residency in poultry medicine at The Ohio State University, in 2002. She has been practicing avian and exotic medicine and surgery exclusively for over eight years.  Her special interests include preventative medicine, control of infectious diseases and flock health. Her hobbies include reading, yoga, sightseeing, cooking and chasing after her toddler.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Cathy Jarrett DVM | | |

Dr. Jarrett graduated from Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. She spent 3 years
as an Army veterinarian for the US Customs Dog Training Center in Front Royal, VA before going into
private practice in 2000. She has special interests in senior pet medicine, dentistry and ultrasound. She
also enjoys running, yoga, and reading. Cathy and her husband Jim have two daughters, Ella and Allison.
On the furry side, they have two Golden Retrievers, Cheyenne and Raleigh and two cats, Muldoon and

 Welcome Dr. Nagel!

Julia Nagel, DVM | | |

Dr. Nagel received her undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech and then her D.V.M from the
Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation she completed a one year
rotating internship at The Hope Center in Vienna, Va gaining experience in emergency and specialty
medicine. Her current interests include preventative medicine, emergency medicine and neurology.
She lives in Northern Virginia with her two adopted cats. Outside of work she enjoys horseback riding,
live music, traveling, and supporting her Virginia Tech Hokies on the football field and basketball court.
