Marci Streck, DVM
Dr.
Streck graduated from Texas A&M University with her
Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. She
joined Caring Hands Animal Hospital shortly after
graduation. She holds specific interests in soft tissue
and orthopedic surgeries, exotic animal medicine,
ultrasound, animal behavior and the human-animal bond.
In 2000, she was honored with the PetSmart Human Animal
Bond Award for her work with a fledgling student-led
service dog organization called Aggie Guide-Dogs and
Service Dogs.
Dr. Streck strives to get to know each patient and their
owner to better tailor preventative medicine and medical
therapies to the animal’s specific needs. She
enjoys working at Caring Hands Animal Hospital because
of the high medical standards employed by the doctors
and staff. She feels our patients enjoy cutting
edge veterinary medicine, as well as the personalized
attention every pet deserves.
When she is not at work, Dr. Streck enjoys spending time
with her family. Her human family members include
her partner, Lisa, and their son, Garrett. Her
animal family includes a Border Collie mix named Kelsey,
a yellow Lab named Levi, and two cats, Cinder and
Klondike. Dr. Streck also owns two rescued
rabbits, Benjamin and Clover, and a Senegal parrot named
Sprout. Her canine and human family members enjoy
many outdoor activities together, including hiking and
camping.
Dr. Streck strongly believes in animal rescue, and most
of her pets are rescue animals. Additionally, she
volunteers her time fostering Border Collies in need of
homes. She especially has a soft spot for
special-needs dogs, and she has fostered two dogs
recovering from hip surgery, as well as one recovering
from a front leg amputation. These dogs enjoyed the
shelter of her home for several months, and then went on
to find permanent homes with their new forever families. |
